Too late......

Life was mere existence
A race against fate
That’s what she thought
As she popped in the pills
Without a shred of regret
She looked in the mirror
And shouted that she hated herself
She sat slumped at the floor
And awaited her death
For the last time she sang her favorite song
And reminisced the old days
When fun and frolic was just that
And not a law firm
When the grass was green
And the skies blue
When every day was an adventure
Not marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine
And as her eyelids got heavy
She thought of what could have been
She gasped for air
A funny analgesic
It smelt smoky
One second after that she met her fate
She was hell’s angel
Rendered to ashes, smoke and dust.
