child marriage
hey every1.....
today i have somethin really imp to talk bout…. a maid who comes to clean my house has a 15 year old daughter who was supposed to give her boards this year. today my mother told me that my maid was geting her daughter married off.. a 15 year old gurl married off? shocking? my mom was so disappointed......when i asked the maid why she was doing so she told me that offers like those come very rarely n even though her daughter wudnt study further she wud be happy...i was flabergasted...they were not going to let her study......wat bout the dowry? theyw ere going to pay the boys family 25000.....we talk bout malls n metros....promotin tourism.....y cant we tlk bout improvin conditions at grassroot level....this child marriage issue comes from illiteracy...an illiterate parent will not let her child be literate......... I would like everyone to think for a second of this a 15 year old girl today is not being allowed to study is being made to go to some tiny village and serve her husband who is 4 years elder for the rest of her life……….the mind sets of people in villages is marriage is the perfect fulfillment in a girls life. ….this all due to illiteracy…

i swear! this is really terrible but i am not sure if we can actually do something really effective i mean,we can only talk to the ppl we know and try and persuade them to not do it
but doesn't it sound so very unreal??we guys are so alienated with the 'actual' india....except for a few movies and some shows and news channels that nobody really watches we dont have any exposure to the actual condidtions of millions of indians...such a stark disparity is not really good for the country..
and u r rite.litearcy can change everything.it will help in controlling most of our problems-population,corruption ,xyz
hope somebody listens
all these issues are social evils and even after knowing tht evry1 acts clueless.i mean illiteracy is really the biggest problem in our coutry today but our centre is just eatin an sleepin just look at Kerela where the states insured 100% literacy!!!!
